Damage due to rising water is traditionally not covered by a standard homeowners policy. Homeowners Choice is here to help you with two coverage options! We can provide flood coverage by endorsement to existing homeowners policies, or through a stand-alone policy. Both of our coverage options help to protect your home and personal belongings from flood.
Flood coverage with Homeowners Choice is available as soon as a new policy is issued, or at the renewal of your current National Flood Insurance Program “NFIP” policy.
Homeowners Choice stand-alone flood policies offer building and personal property limits which exceed those of the NFIP. Coverage is available for homeowners located in all flood zones.
The cost to replace damaged property with materials of like kind and quality, without deduction for depreciation.
Actual Cash Value
The cost to replace an insured item of property at the time of loss, less the value of its physical depreciation.
Call us at 844-HCFLOOD or (844) 423-5663. You can also contact your local agent to ask them how you can get flood coverage through Homeowners Choice.
What does this mean? If your flood insurance is paid through a mortgage escrow account and your mortgage company pays the premium to NFIP instead of Homeowners Choice, NFIP will not cancel their policy and refund the premium. At that point, you will be forced to accept the higher NFIP premium.
